Set & Burn
Privacy Policy
SummaryThe developer does not collect personal information. Banner ads come from Google AdMob, which processes device information such as the advertising identifier. Motion values are used to count reps, and the developer does not receive them. Apple handles payment for Pro.
kvndh ("the developer") handles the personal information of people who use the Set & Burn app ("the app") under Korea's Personal Information Protection Act, as set out below.
01Purpose of processing
The app has no sign-up or login, and the developer does not collect personal information from users.
The app shows banner ads on the finish screen and in the workout list. Google's ad service AdMob selects and displays those ads, and uses device information to show ads and measure how they perform.
While a workout with rep counting on is running, the app counts jumps and steps from the motion values of your AirPods or iPhone. This happens on your device.
02Information processed
The developer collects no personal information. The data the app uses is listed below. All of it is kept in the app's storage on your device, and the developer does not receive it. The app does not receive contacts, location, photos, heart rate or Health app data.
Information that AdMob may collect when showing ads is listed in section 9.
- The workout list (names, times, rounds, sets, switches, end rule, counts) and the chosen workout: used to run the timer and when the app reopens
- Sound, voice cue, vibration and display settings: used for how the app behaves
- Total workout time: a single sum of seconds in work segments, with no records by date
- Whether the first-run guide has been seen: used to show it only once
- A copy of a save file that could not be read: the same kinds of data as above, kept when a save file is damaged
03Processing and retention period
The developer holds no personal information. Data in the app's storage is deleted when you delete the app. Workouts can be removed in the app, and 누적 지우기 (Clear total) in Settings sets the total workout time back to 0.
Information collected by AdMob is kept as set out in Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
04Disclosure to third parties
The developer does not provide users' personal information to third parties. However, unless you have Pro, the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google User Messaging Platform SDK built into the app send the information in section 9 directly to Google, as follows.
- Recipient: Google LLC (United States), AdMob
- Purpose: checking ad consent, showing ads and measuring ad performance
- Information: the device information and ad interaction records listed in section 9
- When and how: sent over the internet when consent is checked and the SDK starts, and when an ad is loaded and shown
- Retention: as set out in Google's Privacy Policy
05Outsourcing of processing
The developer does not outsource the processing of personal information. Apple processes payment for Pro and restoring it through the App Store, and payment information is governed by Apple's privacy policy. The developer does not receive your payment method or Apple Account details.
06Destruction of information
The developer holds no personal information, so there is nothing to destroy. Workouts can be removed in the app, and deleting the app removes all of its data.
07Rights of users and legal guardians, and how to exercise them
Because the developer holds no personal information, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions, email us at the address below.
You can ask Google to give you access to, or delete, information collected by AdMob (policies.google.com/privacy). To refuse use of the advertising identifier, follow section 9. Payment information is held by Apple and is covered by Apple's privacy policy (apple.com/legal/privacy).
08Security measures
What the app uses sits as files in the app's storage on your device. The developer runs no server, and the app does not use iCloud sync. These files can be included in iCloud or Mac backups you turn on.
Motion values are received only while a workout with rep counting on is running, including warm-up and rest, and receiving stops when it is paused or ends. AirPods motion is received only if you allow Motion & Fitness. iPhone motion is a value iOS does not ask permission for. The app asks for two permissions, Motion & Fitness and tracking (ATT). It does not ask for location, camera, microphone, photos, contacts, notifications or Health.
While a rep counting workout is running or paused, the proximity sensor is on to prevent screen touches in a pocket, and its values are not stored. To choose the counting message, the app reads the kind of audio output in use, and this is not stored either.
09Automatic collection and how to refuse it
The app does not use cookies or analytics tools. It includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) and the Google User Messaging Platform SDK for advertising, which may collect the information below when they check ad consent and when they load and show ads.
After the first-run guide closes, or after the first screen appears if you have already seen it, the app checks whether you have Pro. If not, it checks ad consent information. Where ad consent is required, such as the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form appears first. If ads can be requested and you haven't answered yet, iOS shows the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. These prompts are not shown while the timer is running or paused. If you don't allow tracking, AdMob does not get the advertising identifier (IDFA), and ads keep appearing. You can change this choice in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
If the consent result means ads can't be requested, the tracking prompt is not shown and ads are not requested. Where consent is required, change it from 광고 개인정보 선택 (Ad privacy choices) at the bottom of Settings or the Pro screen.
If you buy Pro, ads stop appearing, and from the next launch the app does not start the ad SDK, so the consent form and tracking prompt do not appear.
- Device identifiers, and the advertising identifier (IDFA) if you allow tracking
- Approximate location estimated from the IP address
- Ad interaction records such as impressions and taps, and app usage records
- App performance, crash and diagnostic information
- Ad consent status
